The goal of RESTORhealth is to merge a sound nutrition program with physical therapy giving patients a comprehensive
alternative to treating potentially life-threatening diseases. Our goal is to provide patients an option to seek a
proactive, medically supervised program, based on education and training in efforts to develop a change in lifestyle
and to achieve optimal health.
This program was originally designed to treat patients with diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and weight
management issues. It also helps with treating autoimmune disorders such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Health insurance, Worker's compensation and Medicare cover this program.
The program begins with an evaluation by a physical therapist and initial consultation with our registered dietician.
Each patient is given a workbook that contains the nutrition program rules, guidelines, menus and a food log for keeping
track of daily meals. Each session is at least an hour long and involves cardiovascular conditioning, yoga based
exercises, circuit training, nutrition education and review of food logs.
The program is a minimum of one month in duration at a frequency of three days per week. Patients are educated on
the finer details of eating for optimal health, weight loss and stabilizing blood sugar. A simple and convenient
exercise program is then designed to fit into their lifestyles.
